Bond in Costa Smeralda

The Spy Who Loved Me
James Bond is a legend. First it was the books, then it was the movies. A number of actors have played the suave 007, but it was Roger Moore who was able to take to the big screen in The Spy Who Loved Me, which took place in the gorgeous Costa Smeralda in Sardinia, Italy.
Barbara Bach played the beautiful Bond girl by the name of Anya Amasova and in the movie, they stayed at the iconic Hotel Cala di Volpe. This hotel was and still is very romantic, on the water, and the perfect location to curl up with a loved one to forget the rest of the world exists for a few days.
Who could forget the amazing boat scenes, approaching the hotel? The water is so pristine around the island of Sardinia and there are mountainous landscapes in the background. With the wind in your hair, you can have similar experiences.
While you’re certainly not going to be in a car that ends up in the water that turns into a submarine James Bond style, there are still plenty of things to keep you busy.
It may be that you simply want to go snorkeling or scuba diving so you can see all of the sea life under the blue water yourself. It’s certainly the easiest way!
Experience traditional Sardinian and Mediterranean cuisine at the Hotel Cala di Volpe restaurants and sip a cocktail at the elegant Bar Pontile surrounded by the deep emerald waters and lulled by the sounds of live piano music.
Imagine being able to relive the James Bond experience on your own. It can be just as action-packed or filled with plenty of debonair moments. It’s just a matter of spending the night in Costa Smeralda, perhaps at the same Hotel Cala di Volpe.
